Technology for Equal Health: Empowering Citizens Through Smart Health Checks

How can we bridge the growing health gap in our society? Technology for Equal Health (Technologie voor Gelijke Gezondheid, TvGG), made possible with funding from the Regio Deal West-Brabant, offers a tangible, tech-enabled solution. This project combines smart health technology and citizen engagement to encourage healthier living and self-monitoring.

At the heart of TvGG lies the "Meetstraat" — a mobile, on-site health assessment system that empowers citizens to take charge of their own health. The system serves two key goals:

1. Preventive health checks – Participants receive real-time feedback on their current health status, benchmarked against age- and gender-specific norms.

2. Encouragement for self-monitoring – Individuals are supported in tracking their own health parameters over time using wearables, apps, and a personal health environment (PGO).

   
   

The tests include body composition, blood pressure, balance, fall risk, handgrip strength, heart rate variability, vascular health, and even lung function. Results are visualised clearly, promoting insight and action. Through this data-driven approach, TvGG supports sustainable lifestyle changes without the need for clinical intervention.

Kinetic Analysis plays a role in coordinating technology and data analysis for the measurement infrastructure. We collaborate closely with partners such as Selfcare, Curio, Sportleerbedrijf Breda, and Gemeente Breda to provide impactful and user-friendly experiences.

TvGG is more than a project, it’s part of a regional innovation cluster that combines health data, local hubs, and behavioural science to improve broad wellbeing. By integrating health technology into everyday life, we aim to build a more resilient, equitable, and health-literate society.
